Dog Boarding near Laurel, MD

Your Laurel pup deserves better than a kennel run. Our cage-free dog boarding in Ellicott City trades cold crates for cozy beds and lots of group play. And our team stays hands-on the whole time. Think of it as a sleepover at a best friend's house, with your dog as the guest of honor.

Overnight Care Without the Kennel

Every Laurel pet parent knows the feeling. The bags are packed, and one question is left: what will your dog's night really be like? At Happy Dog Care, there's no guesswork. Boarding guests never sleep behind metal bars, never get shut away alone, and never get a half-attentive caretaker. Instead, they get the same full days of play and plush bedding our daycare dogs love. Our team carries that care past lights-out and through breakfast.

Why Laurel Dog Parents Trust Happy Dog Care

Laurel is a town where dogs get out and about. On weekends, dogs of every size head to the Maryland City Park dog park off Brock Bridge Road. Weekday evenings bring laps around the lake at Granville Gude Park or a stroll near Riverfront Park and historic Main Street. From West Laurel and North Laurel to Russett and Maryland City, local pups are used to staying active every day. So when a work trip or BWI flight comes up, Laurel pet parents want boarding that keeps that energy going. A kennel just shuts it down.

That’s what brings Laurel families north to our Ellicott City pet resort. Here, playtime, exercise, and socializing stay part of your dog’s day. That holds for a long weekend, a conference, or a single night. There’s no isolated kennel run and no last-minute sitter search. Just a team that knows how to keep your dog happy. The drive fits easily around your travel plans. And your dog gets the kind of care that makes them excited to come back.

How much does dog boarding cost?

Boarding is $75 per 24 hours, which includes all-day daycare, medication administration if needed, mealtime, and plenty of attention. Holiday periods add $10 per night ($85 per 24 hours). Do I need to bring my dog’s food?

Yes. We ask that you send pre-portioned meals along with clearly labeled feeding instructions, plus any medications your dog needs. If you run short, emergency meals are available for $5.

Can I board my dog over a holiday weekend?

Yes. Spots fill fast, especially around holidays, so we recommend reserving early. Holiday stays run $85 per 24 hours.

When can I drop off and pick up my dog?

This place is a gem! We had never boarded our little dog before, because I couldn’t bear to think of her being in a cage. When I found Happy Dog online and realized they don’t cage them, we went there to check it out. We were impressed with the free-range concept and large play areas, both indoor and outdoor. They let us have a free “tryout “ morning to see if our dog adjusted well before we boarded her overnight. She did well, and our 2-night boarding was a big success! So glad to have found this place!

Our dog Honey has had excellent experiences with boarding at Happy Dog. She comes home happy and tired in the best way and seems to truly enjoy the staff. She typically spends the rest of the day sleeping off all the fun she had, which is great for returning vacationers who would rather not take her for a hike when we get back from a trip!

Great place to leave your fur baby! They’re very well trained to handle your pup. I left my husky there for a week. He went in for the evaluation and didn’t want to leave. He made a ton of furry friends and had lots to do. They even gave him a bath! 🥰 For a week stay where he can play and be free the price was great! I can’t say enough about how much I love this doggy day care. I mean my dog was actually smiling!

We love Happy Dog Care! Our dog, Gus, has been going for daycare here since we adopted him 5.5 years ago. The staff know him well and welcome him enthusiastically whenever we drop him off. We love that they are crate-free and give the dogs the capability of being inside or outside at their pleasure. He always comes home nice and tired! We’ve also boarded him here a few times during vacations and had just as positive of an experience.
