Planning your dog’s overnight stay at Happy Dog? Great choice! To make the transition as smooth as possible—for both you and your pup—it’s helpful to pack the right items. Here’s a simple, stress-free checklist to help you get organized.

🦴 Food & Treats

Pack enough of your dog’s regular food to cover the entire stay, plus a little extra in case of delays. Don’t forget to include:

  • Pre-portioned meals (if preferred)
  • Feeding instructions (amounts, timing, preferences)
  • A few favorite treats for training or comfort

💊 Medications & Supplements

If your dog takes daily medications or supplements, be sure to bring:

  • Clearly labeled containers
  • Dosing instructions
  • Any necessary pill pockets or snacks used to administer them

🛏 Comfort Items from Home

Familiar smells can ease anxiety. Consider including:

  • Your dog’s bed or blanket
  • A favorite toy or two (but not anything irreplaceable)
  • A worn T-shirt that smells like you

🐶 Leash, Collar & ID Tags

Bring your dog in with their collar, ID tag, and leash. If they wear a harness for walks, pack that too. It’s also a good idea to double-check that contact info on the ID tag is current.

📋 Up-to-Date Records

Make sure Happy Dog has:

  • Proof of vaccinations (Rabies, Bordetella, Distemper/Parvo)
  • Emergency contact info
  • Vet contact details (just in case)

🕐 Smooth Drop-Off & Pickup Tips

  • Give yourself extra time at drop-off so your dog can settle in without feeling rushed.
  • Keep goodbyes low-key—dogs pick up on our emotions.
  • At pickup, expect your pup to be tired (lots of play!) and maybe a little clingy—that’s totally normal.
